Film trailer “Networked leadership”

Networked leadership

The future is part of a connected world: collaborations as a necessary future competence?

The WHY behind this film

The future belongs to organisations that are able and willing to collaborate. Key questions relating to the future of business, technology and society can only be solved through collaborative efforts.

Anyone who manages to combine different skills and resources effectively, will find much needed innovative solutions to increasingly complex problems. This occurs across all levels of business, technology, the environment and overall society.
Our film showcases practical examples of successful internal and external collaboration efforts. Let yourself be inspired, learn about the key levers and broaden your horizons in the field of networked leadership. Both experience and a pioneering spirit are equally necessary to apply this new concept in everyday life. What is needed is the collaborative leadership of individual people and the collective focused on creating a genuine „we“ culture.
The film encourages and motivates individuals and organisations to strategically design, systematically develop and professionally manage collaborative efforts.

The purpose of this film

It is against this backdrop, that the film “Networked Leadership” offers new insights, answers, experiences and serves as a good starting point. Essentially speaking, it is a professionally managed collaboration across subject areas, responsibilities and organisational boundaries. Collaboration is created through shared responsibilities to achieve common objectives, always taking account of the social and organisational factors.

The purpose of the film is primarily to encourage individuals and organisations to consistently develop their collaboration competencies, network with like-minded people and create sustainable partnerships, associations and communities.

In five steps, the film highlights the most important factors to consider in this process:

  • The benefits of networked leadership
  • Challenges
  • Areas of action and navigating collaborations
  • Understanding leadership in collaborations and collaboration competencies
  • From envisioning collaborations to networked organisations

Our exploratory journey has shown that:

Networking in collaborative communities, organisations and networks does not occur by itself. It requires individual and collective leadership and a common space of people who collectively create a „we-based“ culture that nurtures our human capacity to collaborate.

Barbara Heitger_Profil_Carl AuerDr. Barbara Heitger, Managing Partner Heitger Consulting, Vienna/Austria to the film:

Refreshingly clear – and not being on a mission – but very practical instead. This is my résumé of your film – it shows as well an impressing variety of examples and a realistic description of the components for networking and „co-opetition“. Kudos!

Andreas Hößler, Chief Project Engineer, Rolls-Royce Deutschland Ltd & CoKG

I saw lot of similarities and overlaps with my workplace and was able to understand why sometimes things don’t go the way they’re supposed to. Collaborations are uncertain propositions/incur a certain risk. The success and failure of collaborations depends on people. The essential elements for a successful collaboration are language, listening, time and mental flexibility as well as defining and adhering to the rules of the game. Last but not least: what is also needed is a winning strategy. All the best!

Dr. Bernd Schmid, Managing Partner isb GmbH, Systemic Professionalism

about the film:

I watched the whole film in one go without realising how time flew by. From a technical perspective, the issues examined in the film have a very high standard. The approach is fully consistent with the attitudes, concepts and methods taught at isb GmbH.

A clear benefit of this film is that the individuals who shape the organisation actually get the chance to have their say. The complexity and conceptual efforts of collaborations are portrayed in a realistic way.

What becomes evident in the film is that both participants and managers have a lot of practical experience. They know what they are talking about and are able to assess where collaboration efforts make sense, which framework conditions and equipments are required, what types of learning are needed at both the individual and the system level and that all efforts must have the correct setting, leadership and sustainable monitoring.

This is not an undertaking for quick fixes, flashes in the pan or profiteers. Instead it is an endeavour focused on winners who act sustainably. Performance development is sometimes a rather strenuous but also rewarding journey. High performance, joy at work and a sense of meaning and dignity can be the rewards.

I think the film is very well done – both from a technical and creative perspective.

Sincerely, Bernd

My first impression: excellent structure, a very diverse analysis portraying the different aspects of networked leadership, allowing sceptics to discover their own approaches for their respective area of expertise. Due to the diversity of the participating individuals and organisations, the film remained interesting and exciting all the way to the end.

A very good film that shows that we are on track. One should never underestimate that everyone can be involved in making innovations. The fastest way to learn how to prepare a Cervelat (type of sausage) is to learn from the dishwasher him/herself.

Wishing you a lot of success for the future!

A highly interesting documentary about the necessity and need to collaborate and the benefits and limitations of cross-functional collaborations. Congratulations to the team from cinco.systems!
